I’m almost 42, a SAHM to a wonderful 2 y/o strong minded little girl Smile

I’ve loved cooking and baking my whole life and recently started a food blog that I’ve been really involved with in just a short period of time.

How long have you been a Daring Baker/Daring Cook and what’s your favorite thing about being in the group(s) so far?

This will be my first challenge with DC! Very excited about it!

What’s your favorite kitchen gadget? How about your favorite kitchen appliance?

My Kitchen Aid Pro6 Mixer, and my fridge

Are you known for making a certain dish or dessert? If so, what is it?

TOO MANY to list Smile people usually are expecting to see my guacamole or key lime pie when I show up somewhere.

Is there any recipe and/or technique that we haven’t covered yet that you’d really like to make/learn?

Not sure…I’m new!

Do you have a favorite movie? Book? Genre of music? Actor? Actress?

LOVE Robert De Niro and Goodfellas. Music – nothing new – all stuff that’s been around. Big Bruce fan, Pearl Jam, Stevie Wonder, RHCP, kinda all over the place…

Which season (Winter, Summer, Spring, Fall) is your favorite.. why?

fall – love the cooler weather and the colors.

Other than cooking and/or baking.. what hobbies do you enjoy?

gambling, and honestly most of my time is devoted to my little girl so it’s all about her these days!

How long have you been blogging? Do you like it? What’s your favorite post you’ve written?

My food blog has only been around for a month. I love my 2nd post the most so far. A few years ago I wrote an infertility blog detailing my 2.5 year struggle before getting pregnant with my daughter – then wrote throughout my pregnancy – then stopped cold as soon as she was born Smile

What’s your favorite cookbook for desserts/baking? What’s your favorite cookbook for savory/cooking?

I’m a big Lidia and Mario fan and enjoy their books for both.

Is there one food that you seriously dislike/hate? If so, which is it and why?

liver. Just not a fan.

Do you have a favorite local restaurant? If so, why is it your favorite and what kind of food is served there?

a bunch…but have to always give shout outs to my brother-in-law’s restaurants that he owns (Italian)

Who taught you how to cook and/or bake?

my parents and grandparents

What’s your favorite holiday and why?

Christmas Eve. It’s HUGE in our family, and everyone is together, about 60 of us, tons of kids, great food (Feast of Seven Fishes) …always awesome.

Italy or Vegas

Food & Wine. Always great recipes.

hell yes! To many!

Crockpot London broil with baked mac & cheese and salad. I cooked. As always.

kitchen. Desperately need one.

Minion of Evil – but that’s why she’s so successful

Do you watch any competitive cooking shows? Like Top Chef or Hell’s Kitchen? If so, which is your favorite and why?

Top Chef is my favorite – I also watch Chopped, NFNS, and Cupcake Wars. Level of competition with TC is best.

already been there twice – Del Posto – Mario and Lidia

depends on the dish…love fresh basil
